EVENTS

Programs and activities are open to youth from any community that would like
to participate.

Physical activities available to the youth include the use of a trampoline, an above ground pool, volleyball courts, a basketball hoop, and horseshoe pits.  We also provide tools and materials for building huts, birdhouses, etc.

LJWMYF offers summer activities including:  hunter safety and bow instruction, fishing, workshops, wildlife and ecology management, hiking and camping, an annual fishing derby, bonfires with activities and refreshments, and a senior and youth organic garden project.

Some of the fall and winter activities include: a haunted forest, sledding and ice skating parties.

Food and Refreshments will be sold Hamburgers, hotdogs french-fries, soda, coffee, Adults can fish if they bring at least one child or youth to the derby. Prizes for different categories and are for kids only.
Bring your own:  folding chair, bug spray, towelettes, worms and fishing gear

  These fish are what is stocked in our pond by the Vermont Fish and Wild Life.
We are donated 300 of these fish annually.


HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE

We are sponsoring a two day class for hunter education. 
September 13 & 14th, 2008
   8 to 4 at the Bakersfield Town Clerks office.
Pre-registration required. Bring a bag lunch.  
 We are outside for required activites please dress for the elements.

Will Be Hosting Their Annual
HALLOWEEEN HAUNTED FOREST

That’s just 8 tenths of a mile east, on East Bakersfield Road (town road #3),
from the intersection of Route 108 & Route 36. Just follow the signs!!

 Free treats and snacks for everyone. 
Concession food will be sold.  Not suited for children under 10 years of age.

Food and Refreshments
Approximately 300-500 pounds of treats, candy, and snacks to be handed out under the tent. Affordable, homemade french fries, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and hot chocolate and soda will be sold. 

 It is free to the public and please dress for the weather it is outside in the woods. Boots, coats, raincoats!
   There will also be a bonfire if weather permits.(no if rain or snow )  Come and experience the thrills and chills and screams of the guest whom might show up for the evening to greet you out there!!!   If you dare.  It is not suited for children under 10 years of age, but use your own discretion please.

We work very hard to bring intergenerational activities together.
